I matched the Toro Tartare Stir with this Style because of the beautiful multi printed top with its thin lines which mimics the rice cracker bowl that the toro happily sits in. The pattern and colors of the top make me think of the gorgeous marbling of the toro fat! The color of the toro, caviar, and rice cracker balls match with the light pinks, beige, and grays of the shirt, pants, and heels.
STIR
This meal I had with Dan at Roku on Sunset had us dancing in our seats followed by us melting into our seats! Chef Jiro Kobayashi is a master. We were seated at the Omakase bar where we had the pleasure of chatting with Chef Jiro while he created gorgeous edible masterpieces for us. The entire experience at Roku made me feel like the luckiest girl to have the opportunity to enjoy such a memorable, delicious, and special meal!
Everything had a wow factor to it. The Toro Tartare was prepared table side where our kind waiter incorporated all of the fresh ingredients and delicately mixed the tartare right next to us! You better believe I Snapchatted THAT along with the rest of the meal! Let’s also talk a bit about the Premium Chirashi Bowl. A chirashi bowl is like a treasure chest full of the ocean’s finest gems. The tamago is made in-house with white fish and shrimp, so it has this delicate sweet taste of the ocean. The toro is especially melt-in-your-mouth amazing!
The Matsu Signature Style sushi had to be one of the most beautiful plates of nigiri I have ever seen (pictured below)- uni with diced toro | seared toro with sliced truffle | king crab leg with champagne butter | bluefin tuna with avocado, argula, Parmesan cheese | Albacore, garlic aioli, rice cracker | yellowtail with ginger relish | seabream, yuzu jelly, lava salt | scottish salmon, cucumber slice, cilantro mayo, caviar |
You must order the banana fritters if you love bananas. If you don’t love bananas, at least try a bite from a friend who does. They were like super moist banana donut holes with a crispy fried shell.
STYLE
Elliatt is an Australian label with amazing prints and designs. I love their bold styles and their edgy cuts. I am wearing the Mythology Top Multi Printed Georgette and Moonstone Pant Grey Culottes (similar here). I’ve never worn culottes before and actually quite love them now! They are so comfortable, practical, and professional. It’s like wearing a flowy under the knee skirt, but you don’t need to worry about making sure everything is in place when walking or sitting, and can just go about your day with your legs wherever they need to be!
I’m wearing Qupid’s Janel heels. I’m a fan of Qupid because they not only have sassy and stylish shoes, but they encourage women to be themselves. Their mission is to support the “fearless, impulsive, far from basic” woman who “sets her own standards and does what she wants.” That woman is every woman, so go out there and be you. Qupid has styles to fit every woman’s needs including heels, platforms, booties, sneakers, sandals, you named it! Feel free to use this code June15 for 15% off (valid through 6/27/16) if you see anything you like on Qupid.com!
