Hello, 2015!! I cannot believe it's already a new year. 2014 flew by! Happy New Year, everyone! I hope that you had a wonderful holiday spent with loved ones. I'm kicking off Stir + Style 2015 with some Berry Froyo Bites, healthy and refreshing! To be honest, I ate these for breakfast! It was a sweet way to start my day and kept me full for hours.

Homemade berry frozen yogurt on top of a gluten-free Nana Joe’s Stoke Bar is the perfect treat for an LA “winter.” The sun is back out down here in SoCal. We had a whole three weeks of “chilly” weather (relatively speaking) and now we’re back to sunny skies! Gotta love LA.

Frozen yogurt is so easy to make and the color from the berries creates such a vibrant color. All you need is-

2 cups of frozen berries
3 tbsp lemon or orange juice
¾ cup of sugar (more or less depending on your taste)
¼ tsp salt
1/8 tsp cinnamon
1 ½ Greek yogurt
½ cup vanilla soymilk or almond milk

Heat the blueberries, citrus juice, sugar, salt, and cinnamon over medium. Stir and mash the berries until all the sugar dissolves. Pour into a bowl and let it cool for 10 minutes. Stir in the yogurt and milk. Chill the mixture in the refrigerator overnight or until it is completely cold. Pour the mixture into your ice cream maker and let it churn for 15-20 minutes. The texture is perfect straight out of the machine! Pack the remaining froyo in a tuppie and store it in the freezer (keep it in mind that it will harden up a bit in the freezer).

I cracked the Nana Joe’s cranberry, apricot, multi-seed Stoke Bar in half and used two spoons to shape a neat froyo oval to place on top of the bar. To finish, I sprinkled the top with shredded coconut.

Now onto the Style for this froyo Stir. The pattern on my Sophie Rue sheer plunging drape blouse along with my floral bib necklace mirror the berry speckled froyo and the shredded coconut. This top is lightweight and can be dressed up or down. These Joe’s Jeans are my new favorite. I can cuff them at the bottom or just leave them with its original hem. I find that cuffing the hem adds structure to my outfit. These jeans are ankle jeans, so with ankle boots, it looks best to cuff them or else the hem only slightly hovers over the top of the boots which doesn’t provide much contrast. These slip-on Sam Edelman boots are the “granola bar” to this Style. They’re sturdy, incredibly comfortable, very well-made. They’re versatile and would look great with dresses and skirts as well.
